ER Nurse Practitioner - Contract

NURSE PRACTITIONER - EMERGENCY ROOM

*REQUIRED* Currently licensed in Texas

This position can be Full-Time or PRN.

An ER Nurse Practitioner renders highly professional and technical medical care to assigned patients. Provides direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with standards of care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct health assessments including recording complete medical and psychosocial history
• Record symptoms
• Physically examine patients
• Make diagnoses
• Develop a treatment plan that may include medication and other therapies
• Provide patient education to promote habits that will prevent diseases and maintain good health
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and nurses
• Order and interpret laboratory test results
• Follow up on a patient to determine the effectiveness of recommended treatments

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current state of Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing
• 2 years of experience in an ER setting
• Current certifications.
• Experience in working with EMR systems & ability to learn new software programs as needed.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to stand and stoop without hindrance, full range of body motion
• Fine motor skills
• Visual acuity, normal range of hearing

Scheduling:

The Emergency Room provides services and is staffed around-the-clock twenty-four (24) hours a day, 7 days a week. This includes weekend, nights, days, holidays. The facility will be staffed with a minimum of one (1) Registered Nurse each shift. Every attempt will be made to schedule the employee’s first choice of shift. There may be a time when the company will need to adjust schedules in order to provide nursing coverage for all shifts. Every effort will be made to accommodate the employee when feasible.
