Supplier Quality Engineer

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) in Pittsburgh, PA.

This a contract position and open to using 1099 applicants- 1st Shift

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Utilizing processes based on industry standards from VDA and AIAG, the Supplier Quality Engineer will:

• Support build by containing supplier quality parts issues, confirming quality maturity level and revision level of parts, and helping root cause supplier quality parts issues
• Inspect and sort non-conforming parts
• Work with production controls team members to identify and approve supplier parts for build to develop and carry out RCCA plan of action. (half shop floor / half office).
• Work hands on with Class A surface parts and inspect for appearance defects
• Work directly with manufacturing build team to identify and root cause part defects and implement containment plans to progress build
• Record and investigate supplier quality issues using issue management software
• Assist in investigation of root cause, gather and analyze historical data, and assist as needed in the corrective action process to help drive processes that will yield no future issues.
• Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

JOB SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, and machining.
• Demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting engineering and assembly drawings a must.
• Comprehension level knowledge and understanding of inspection techniques and the use of the appropriate measuring tools, equipment, and gages.
• Root Cause Corrective Analysis experience needed.
• Comprehension level knowledge of industrial equipment assembly processes.
• Strong attention to detail for parts reviews.
• Operating level proficiency using computer software programs.
• Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated comfort level in interfacing with various levels of the customer's staff and management while working in a fast paced, diverse, and dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, planning, and prioritizing skills.
• Planning and prioritizing activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year or 4-year technical degree in a related field preferred.
• Root Cause Corrective Analysis experience needed.
• Quality, Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred.
• SAP knowledge preferred.
• Microsoft Suite and SharePoint knowledge preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position may include some supervisory responsibilities.
