POSITION SUMMARY:

A skilled graphic designer with extensive experience and a proven ability to tackle design and technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for creating visually compelling and strategically focused assets that convey the KCM mission, maintain brand standards, and align with organizational strategies across print and digital platforms. This role demands an advanced proficiency in design principles. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and stakeholders to understand and effectively interpret creative direction project requirements and consistently deliver effective solutions. The position is ONSITE.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Generate and present conceptual designs in alignment with the creative direction provided by the Art Director and ministry stakeholders.
• Develop graphic designs tailored for diverse platforms, including online, social media, email, print, streaming, and broadcast television, ensuring adherence to ministry brand standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in creative design, concept development, layout, color theory, composition, typography, and effective communication skills.
• Uses graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud to create and edit visual elements.
• Contributes to creative meetings, offering creative ideas and solutions.
• Stay current on design trends, software updates, and industry best practices.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, visual communications, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of graphic design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Previous agency or brand-side experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud. (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
• Mastery of design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout composition.
• Ability to create visually appealing graphics and compositions that effectively communicate a specific message or concept while adhering KCM brand guidelines.
• Knowledge of current design trends and techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present and articulate design ideas.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in branding across various platforms.
• Time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
• Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative design solutions.
• Adaptability to learn new tools and technologies as the field continuously evolves.
• Experience in motion graphics, video editing (Premiere, After Effects) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of conventional offset print production process
• Ability to create and maintain good working relationships within the department and throughout the organization.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

• Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office 365, Wrike, Epson Surecolor 7570 roll-fed proof printer, copier, scanner

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• Must be able to sit at a computer for minimum of eight hours per day.
• Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, telephones, copiers, and other office equipment.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
• Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Works in a normal office environment.
• In rare cases there can be last minute projects/tasks that arise outside of normal working hours due to unforeseen circumstances so the ability to work remotely occasionally is a plus.
