One River School of Art + Design was founded 11 years ago with a simple goal in mind: To build a community for Contemporary Art in the Suburbs through fun educational programs and partnerships with living Contemporary artists.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of service for students and parents at One River School. We have developed a system that blends a fun interactive social dynamic, with an innovative method that focuses on contemporary art education. The Assistant Director works closely with members and students to ensure great experiences.

Position Highlights:

School Community:

  • Work closely with educators to drive the best in classroom experiences for all members

  • Drive member retention by ensuring great experiences in the classroom, proper onboarding of students, parent communication and develop new methods for increasing retention, referrals and loyalty

  • Develop one to one relationships with the student body and the parents of our K-12 students

  • Maximize student enrollment by installing and managing a systematic method for closing new student inquiries and conducting school tours

  • Respond to member / student service questions and solve issues

Community Outreach:

  • Maximize student enrollment by proactively marketing the school via daily lead follow up, closing new student inquiries and conducting school tours

  • Maintain and update all potential member mailing lists

  • Develop new referral strategies and drive customer reviews to promote student enrollment

  • Create, promote and host community events, both on-site and off-site

  • Develop new partnerships with local businesses, public / private schools, PTA’s and community members to drive enrollment and have an active presence in the local community

  • Design new collaterals and graphics for promotion at events and on website / social media

  • Generate and analyze Annual / Monthly Reports on Enrollment, Marketing, Customer Retention, Inventory and Length of Stay

Community Space:

  • Curate, promote and execute professional and community exhibitions in the gallery and cultivate local art collectors

  • Ensure the building is well maintained and well equipped at all times

Benefits:

  • Competitive salaries (plus bonus) Depending on experience you can expect the starting salary to be between $50K and $55K.

  • Paid vacation days

  • Non- traditional work schedule - 2 late days per week (eg: 11am to 8pm) Work 9am to 5 or 6pm on Saturdays, but get a day off in the week

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a visual arts related subject from an accredited, four year college or university required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Visual arts, Art history, Arts management, Arts leadership

  • Strong communication skills required

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to network, collaborate and build relationships with clients, partners, staff, remote colleagues and others.
