Occupational Therapist Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for patient care under the direction and plan of an Occupational Therapist. Supervises and aids in direct patient care and other activities as needed. This a 30 hour work week position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides occupational therapy treatment according to an established treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
• Provides effective communication with patients, family members, referring physicians, and the therapy treatment team.
• Provides timely written documentation, treatment notes, portions of monthly progress notes, and discharge summaries per facility and department requirements.
• Maintains patient records confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information to be reviewed and signed off by supervising therapist.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Assistant license or license eligible.
• Outpatient experience preferred, not required.
• CPR certification is required.
