Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Toddler or Infant Co-Teacher. Working alongside experienced educators, you will provide nurturing care and support to children in our toddler or infant class, fostering their development in a safe and enriching environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff members to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of toddlers.
  • Supervise and engage with children during playtime, mealtimes, and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with children and families, maintaining open communication and addressing any concerns or questions in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Assist with diapering, feeding, and other basic care routines, promoting independence and self-help skills among toddlers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and equipment, and following health and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelors, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or enough credits to qualify under rule 9503.0033/0032
  • Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices, including age-appropriate curriculum planning and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and children.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Must pass a background check and comply with state licensing requirements.
