Travel Welder & Track Laborer

A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. Job Overview: 

We are seeking hardworking and mechanically inclined individuals to join our team as laborers. This position primarily operates out of our Kansas City, Kansas location, with travel required for unloading trains and repairing equipment at various project sites nationwide.

Responsibilities:

• Work primarily out of the Kansas City, Kansas location, assisting with various tasks 
• Travel approximately 50% of the time to other project sites throughout the United States.
• Perform heavy lifting tasks as required for unloading materials and equipment off trains. 
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to assist with equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Utilize hydraulic equipment and tools for various tasks; experience with hydraulics is preferred.
• Assist with welding tasks as needed; welding experience is a plus, but training will be provided by A&K.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing job duties.
• Work effectively as part of a team to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 80lbs.
• Mechanical aptitude is a must.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Experience with hydraulics is preferred.
• Welding experience highly preferred. 
• Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time throughout the United States.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record is a must.
• Ability to pass federal drug tests and comply with random testing requirements.
• Ability to pass a federal background check.
