As a School Bus Driver, you'll have the opportunity to create a safe and enjoyable transportation experience for students, helping them arrive at their destinations safely and on time.

· $1000 hiring bonus paid after you receive your 1st paycheck
· $1000 retention bonus paid in early December to those still working as a School Bus Driver
QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record
· Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety
· Passion for working with children and providing a positive experience
· Ability to communicate effectively and interact courteously with students, parents, and school staff
REQUIREMENTS
- Anne Arundel County resident
- Valid Maryland Non-Commercial Driver’s License
- 21 years or older
- High school diploma
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Males need to be registered with Selective Service
- Documentations needed
- Proof of address
- Proof of Work Authorization
- Proof of Social Security
- (if applicable) Proof of Public Benefits
STEPS
- Complete the AAWDC Enrollment Application, provide the required documents and register for the program.
- Complete the Suitability questionnaire and phone interview. Obtain your learner’s permit.
- Participate in Best CDL’s Training Program to obtain your CDL B license. Training consists of 3 Theory classes. You must also complete 160 driving hours.
- Secure a job with an Anne Arundel County School Bus company. Most companies will require candidates to complete the following:
- Pass a drug test
- Pass a background check
- Pass a Physical
- Pass the Lift Test (lift 40lbs)
- Complete the mandatory 5-day training and obtain the appropriate endorsements.
- Any other task required by the employer.
