Position Description

The IT Support Engineer is primarily responsible for over-the-phone support, maintaining Active Directory user & group databases, working with production cloud solutions, network administration, backup/imaging systems, troubleshooting issues, and documenting key aspects of the job. A positive attitude, quick thinking, and follow-up are critical characteristics of this role.

Essential Job Duties

• Maintain and support a growing multi-office network and server environment

• Setup, install, and maintain Windows and Mac computers for office and remote workforce
• Assist with VOIP configuration
• Backup IT support phone line
• Maintain and configure an on-prem Windows Active Directory environment synced with Azure/Microsoft 365
• Assist office and field staff with IT equipment, office equipment, and questions

• Cooperate with company management by performing any other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Associates Degree in computer or information systems program; equivalent experience will be accepted

• Minimum 2 years experience with Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environment

• 2 or more years of experience supporting Windows and Mac computers
• Working knowledge and understanding of multi-office networking, including DHCP, DNS, routing, VPN, and VOIP

• Minimum 2 years experience working with Microsoft Office, including Teams and OneDrive, in an office environment
• Ability to read, legibly speak, and understand English; must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external clients.
• Must be able to work Monday through Friday and can be on call at times.
• A favorable drug test and acceptable background record are also required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Working knowledge of Watchguard and Sonicwall firewalls
• Experience working with Ubiquiti wireless APs and switches
• An understanding of Linux and VMWare servers
• Working knowledge of Synology NAS and backups
• Previous experience working with MacOS computers in an Active Directory environment
• Proficiency in working with SD-WAN
• Experience with conference room audio/visual systems

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Communicates through telephone conversations, face-to-face interactions, texts, and email
• The ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
• Sitting for long periods; occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching
• Read printed materials and a computer screen
• Stamina needed to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions
• Must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment including a computer, keyboard, and telephone
