The Opportunity
The Lead Control Systems Engineer works on control system projects and supports the design, development, integration, testing, and installation of control system hardware and software. This role demonstrates increasing independence in the field, leads portions of project execution, and provides technical guidance to other project members while working under the direction of assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership.
This is an onsite position that can work out of any of the above locations.
What You Will Do
Control Systems Engineering & Technical Leadership
  • Lead and support hardware and software design, development, integration, and testing of control systems
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in the field while knowing when to seek guidance
  • Lead other project members during installation, startup, and commissioning activities
  • Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Demonstrate strong electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting skills
  • Read and interpret P&IDs and wiring diagrams
  • Exhibit full understanding of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications
  • Apply and follow the company's Quality Management System (QMS)

Design, Documentation & Technical Review
  • Perform intermediate control system design with guidance from senior engineers
  • Develop instrumentation specifications for basic control systems
  • Review standard documents generated by others for technical accuracy, grammar, and presentation quality
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Information Technology (IT) systems, network infrastructure, and computer system design as related to control system integration

Project Ownership & Execution
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, on schedule, and within budget
  • Lead individual project tasks and/or small to mid-sized projects in their entirety
  • Provide accurate and timely status updates on assigned work
  • Understand project scope, contracts, and specifications
  • Identify issues outside assigned scope and communicate them to the project lead

Customer Engagement & Professional Conduct
  • Communicate with customers in an effective, positive, and proactive manner
  • Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures
  • Conduct all business professionally
  • Provide attentive, responsive, and high-quality customer support
  • Develop an understanding of customer needs and actively seek to meet them
  • Follow up consistently and honor customer commitments

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, combined with relevant technical experience
  • Typically 2+ years of total industry experience
  • Proven track record of 1-3 years as a Control Systems Engineer or equivalent role
