Our firm is looking for an experienced, client satisfaction driven, Environmental Professional to join our team.  The right candidate is capable of working with or without a support team performing various environmental studies, assessments, plans and permits.

 

Job Summary:

The Environmental Professional will perform various environmental studies, assessments, plans and permits. This includes providing clients with straightforward, comprehensive solutions.

 

Projects may include construction projects focusing on earthwork and structural foundations; well design and sampling; environmental assessments including Phase I/II site assessments; seismic risk assessments.


General Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform fieldwork utilizing working knowledge of sampling protocols.
  • Manage client requirements for Scope, Schedule, Budget, and Quality.
  • Manage / train project level personnel on various environmental projects.
  • Produce well written technical reports and proposals.
  • Manage project budgets and deadlines as assigned.
  • Effectively communicate with fellow ATEI staff, clients, contractors, or service vendors.
  • Evaluate/interpret environmental data concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions.
  • Generate subsurface maps, cross-sections and site models.
  • Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils and water, classify waste.
  • Interpret data. Prepare plans and reports to support remediation activities.
  • Evaluate data to determine its validity, quality, and scientific significance.
  • Prepares oral briefings, documents, workshops, training sessions, or public hearings to communicate scientific and technical information.
  • Reviews and studies environmental technical standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or related field.
  • Between 8- and 15-years’ experience within the Environmental consulting field.
  • Certification / Licensure in related field.
  • Hazmat certifications in Asbestos, lead, and mold a plus.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a government background check and drug screen.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, Bluebeam, and flow modeling a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience working within Federal, State, and local regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task multiple assignments.
  • Experience with fieldwork and sampling protocols.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Conducting fieldwork in multiple ambient conditions in Texas and throughout the U.S.
  • Ability to walk, stand, crawl, kneel, climb, and perform repeated bending in the field.
  • Overnight travel required up to 25%, possibly more.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and shades of color for sample identification and analysis.
  • Ability to lift objects (45+ lbs.), tools and equipment.
  • Physical ability to conduct day-long inspections and sampling walking across variant terrain and under differing weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Compensation: Compensation is based on skill level, education and experience.
