Truly Good Foods has sales and distribution offices in Orlando, Atlanta, Washington DC, Nevada, Dallas and Charlotte, NC. Our SQF, Kosher and organic production facility in Charlotte roasts nuts & seeds daily and blends over 60 bulk snack mixes. These facilities also package and re-box many of our items to meet our customers' varied needs. Charlotte is our corporate headquarters, and is home to purchasing, accounting, and sales & marketing offices.

$250.00 Sign on Bonus after 90 days in good standing

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic repairs, maintains, and troubleshoots machinery and mechanical equipment and is responsible for performing facility maintenance and repairs. Performs planned and unscheduled work, making design improvements, and process changes to improve overall production while completing assigned preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
•Conducts, and documents facility and production equipment preventative maintenance.
•Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
•Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
•Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
•Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
•Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
•Repairs or replaces defective parts, including price and product comparison to determine best product fit and best cost.
•Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
•Lubricates and cleans parts.
•Starts devices to test their performance.
•Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
•Repairs, replaces and installs electrical equipment/components, electrical boards, electrical wiring, circuit breakers, systems and fixtures.
•Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
•Communicates with team members to ensure continuous production operation with minimal unproductive time and materials.
•Performs housekeeping to ensure assigned work area is neat and orderly.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Scope of Responsibility
•This job follows standard practices and procedures and is expected to accomplish work assignments with a limited amount of supervision.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization. Ability to read and understand English.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Ability to use computers and other devices as the job requires.

Education and Experience
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six (6) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands
•The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and climb. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Tools, Equipment, and Machinery
•Must have ability to operate pallet jack, forklift or similar machinery, tools, and equipment, as needed, in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
•Must have experience working on food processing equipment, specifically VFFS Machines (vertical form fill and seal machines), multi head weighers, industrial roasters, tape machines, label machines and metal detectors.
