Packaging Maintenance Mechanic (Level I-III) 

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Packaging Maintenance Mechanic (Level I–III) for a manufacturing company based in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will support production and maintenance operations by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing and packaging equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced maintenance professionals looking to grow their careers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Level placement will be determined based on experience and skills. 

Pay Rate
 $20 - $27 per hour (Based on experience)

Schedule & Hours 

Monday through Friday, first shift 6 00 am to 2 30 pm. 

Packaging Maintenance Mechanic Duties & Responsibilities

 • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. 
• Perform preventive maintenance on packaging and manufacturing equipment. 
• Complete equipment changeovers and production line setups. 
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Accurately complete maintenance logs and work orders. 
• Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. 
• Follow OSHA, company safety, and cGMP standards. 
• Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. 

Packaging Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications & Requirements 

• Manufacturing, packaging, or industrial maintenance experience preferred. 
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment.
• Previous experience as a Packaging Mechanic, Setup Mechanic, Line Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician preferred. 
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. 
• Basic computer skills required. 
• Excellent attendance and reliability. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand, bend, reach, climb, and work throughout the shift. 

Packaging Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications & Requirements 

• Overfill, Piston, Rotary, and Fogg filling equipment 
• Axon sleevers
 • Induction sealers (Enercon, Automate, Pillar Technologies) 
• Cappers (Kaps-All, DTM, ACASI) 
• Heat and steam tunnels • Conveyors • Diaphragm, Silverson, and Graco pumps
 • Similar packaging equipment 

Mechanic I (Entry Level) – 0–2 Years
 • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 
• Foundational pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge. 
• Assists with preventive maintenance, repairs, changeovers, and line setups. 
• Machine shop and hand tool experience preferred. 

Mechanic II (Intermediate) – 3–5 Years 
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems. 
• Experience maintaining packaging or manufacturing equipment. 
• Performs repairs, PMs, installations, and changeovers with minimal supervision. 
• Experience reading schematics and basic PLC troubleshooting preferred. 

Mechanic III (Advanced) – 6+ Years 
• Advanced troubleshooting in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
 • Experienced with complex repairs, equipment upgrades, and integrations. 
• Independently diagnoses issues and implements corrective actions. 
• Supports continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
