Job Description

Hotel Sales & Catering Manager

Salary:

Monday-Friday

Weekends, Evenings and Holidays as needed.

The Hotel Sales & Catering Manager will be based out of our Vancouver, WA location and serve as the main point of contact for all sales and catering efforts at home property while providing remote sales support to other assigned hotels in the Space Age Fuel portfolio.

  • Lead with a positive attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence to motivate team members and promote empowerment.
  • Cultivate lead sources through direct sales calls/appointments, cold calls telemarketing, etc.
  • Maintain all sales systems, such as sales records and reports, meeting calendar, traces of history and potentials, logs of groups and not previously accommodated, and mailing lists.
  • Develop strong customer relations through frequent communication, professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interactions. Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system including dates and references, to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account services and increased revenues.
  • Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation and study marketplace and territory to effectively capitalize on the hotel’s strengths and competitor’s weaknesses and capabilities.
  • Identify and analyze competition, both locally and regionally.
  • Maintains active involvement in assigned community and industry organizations.
  • Maximize the occupancy and average daily rate of assigned hotels.
  • Ensure customers are 100% satisfied with their hotel experience.
  • Negotiate prices and execute contracts.
  • Coordinate efforts for scheduled functions to ensure the efficient execution of events that adhere to client’s guidelines and expectations. Inform staff of special requests and changes that will affect events.
  • Ensure client equipment needs are met.
  • Greet clients prior to the onset of functions and maintain presence throughout event to ensure client satisfaction and fulfill additional requests.
  • Develop team members through appropriate training, coaching and mentoring to ensure strong operational performance.

Position Requirements

  • Previous hotel sales experience
  • Previous food and beverage of catering experience
  • Decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Innovative and self-motivated
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy, sometime stressful, times.
  • Must have and maintain a current driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record and use a vehicle which is insured and maintained in good condition.
  • Available to travel in and out of state with occasional overnights.
