Food Service Manager

Summary

Clemson Child Development Center is in search of a food service manager to plan prepare meals according to the USDA Food Program Guidelines.This position is vital to our Center's mission and care of our children.Previous food service industry experience is required and needs to be someone who enjoys working with children and their nutritional needs.

Clemson Child Development Center was founded over 50 years ago as a non-profit childcare facility with the mission to serve all children in the Clemson area with affordable, high-quality childcare and a preschool education in a diverse learning environment.The tradition of excellence continues with an A+ ABC Quality Rating and the 4K Frist Steps Program taught at CCDC. Our teachers foster learning and development through creative, cognitive, social and physical activities appropriate for each age group.We are a full-service childcare center providing care and meals for children six weeks to 4 years old.

Duties

Job Description Includes but not limited to:
-Plan prepare menus according to USDA Food Program Guidelines
-Order/Purchase food/non-food supplies needed, well manage food usage
-Prepare food to USDA guideline nutrition standards and recipes
-Keep food items non-food items organized
-Follow all DSS/USDA/DEHEC Guidelines for food preparation, storage kitchen cleanliness
-Supervise kitchen assistant
-Work with teachers on identifying children with food allergies
-Identify foods children like to reduce food waste
-Clean, wash put away all items used in food preparation service
-Manage food budget for month
-Assist with special events put on by CCDC teachers and leadership

Requirements

Applicant Requirements:
-At least one year of food service/ kitchen management or two years of food service experience
-18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED certificate
-Must pass all state federal background checks required to work in childcare facility.
-A joy for working with children
-Strong work ethic consistent attendance to work
-Attention to detail, following the DSS and Federal food program regulations
-General understanding of early childhood nutrition
-Basic computer skills needed to order food from vendor website
-Budget and Management experience
-Ability to lift 30lbs, move tables chairs and bend down to pick up objects off the floor
-Willingness to learn and to continue to develop program to growing needs of CCDC
