Job Summary
This position provides support in meeting the requirements of manufacturing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the signoff of ECO’s associated with new product introductions, providing feedback on product manufacturability, development of both assembly and test fixtures, providing manufacturing process development and improvements, and identifying manufacturing automation and equipment needs. This is a ‘hands-on’ position.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison between R&D and Manufacturing for new product introduction
- Supports Raycap QM program by developing and implementing policies and procedures
- Provides technical advice to test technicians
- Assesses possible manufacturing automation opportunities
- Defines requirements for additional equipment and tools and implement new equipment
- Creates product assembly work instructions and manufacturing equipment processing instructions
- Participates in the resolution of quality issues and drive associated improvements
- Identifies and plans manufacturing assembly and test workflow layout
- Works closely with supply chain resources to identify cost reduction opportunities
- Provides technical assistance with meeting OSHA requirements
- Designs assembly fixtures and other manufacturing aids
- Regular attendance at Safety Committee meetings for review and discussion of the performance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and (Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA); ensuring processes remain sustainable, suitable and effective
- Continuous assessment of opportunities for improvement and any needed changes to management systems
- Assists other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated leadership skills through experience, training and working well with others
Physical Demands
- The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to handle tools, machinery or controls
- Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Walk, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
