Quality Inspector

Job Function

Conduct activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of manufacturing processes, materials, and products.

Essential Functions

• Follow prescribed Safety Regulations and immediately report any unsafe conditions to the Safety Coordinator.
• Utilize company quality standards, procedures and methods for production inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Conduct analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.
• Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data  to evaluate the current process and process changes.
• Document data obtained during all quality activities consistent with the company's quality policies and continuous improvement procedures.
• Assist in the development of new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
• Communicate and properly document significant issues or developments identified during quality activities.
• Prepare reports and document quality procedures to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.
• Utilize the CMM, X-Ray, and gage/calibration equipment for in-process inspections.
• Visually and mechanically inspects products and can accept or reject at final audits.
• Complete the first and last piece quality inspection of the product.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and part drawings.
• Basic understanding of GD&T as indicated on production part drawings required.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
