SUMMARY
The Electronic Technician III, On-call, performs complex diagnostics, repairs, and modifications to Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems, communication systems, and meteorological systems. The designee will perform the required periodic maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and test equipment as required. The technician will setup, maintain, and store airfield systems or deep-field camp systems that support aviation operations and meteorological operations. This technician will be responsible for orchestrating and leading an aviation industry standard maintenance program to include quality assurance and training.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with formal training from a Technical School or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications and four (4) years electronics apprentice programs with experience relating to the listed system types. Formal electronics training, to
include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Must have Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout, Six (6) years of experience with the aviation ground, navigation systems, meteorology systems, or air traffic communication systems and two (2) years' experience of supervision and shop practice. Note, Experience may be concurrent.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATION
A valid passport is required and is reimbursable. Must have a valid driver’s license.
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Must be able to perform job duties in extreme, cold, dark, work environments.
Must pass medical and dental examination prior to deployment; expenses are reimbursable.
Knowledge and experience performing hardware maintenance, including replacing and/or repairing hard drives, motherboards, video cards, RAM, CPU, monitors, power supplies, network cards, printers and other peripherals.

Systems Maintenance General Requirements
Reporting the operational readiness, capabilities, limitations, and reliability of installed systems.
Maintenance and verification of work center safety requirements and equipment.
Submission of work requests for facility repairs in accordance with individual site processes.
Collection and maintenance of accurate records including but not limited to equipment
maintenance logs, equipment certifications records, and inventory.
Conducting reviews of available test equipment, its condition, calibration status, and requirements
it is meeting.
Calibration and repair of sensors and test equipment.
