Construction Welder Journeyman

Primary Function

Welding Pipe/Structural Pipe Supports, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Galvanized. Sch40 – 160 wall. Read Blueprints, Cut Pipe, Fitting Pipe to AWS section B31.1 & b31.9 building code. Welding out all pipe joints to CWI or QC Visual Inspection. All Positions. All weld coupons in 6G positions. SMAW, GTAW, GMAW FCAW.

Typical Duties

• Welding Pipe Joints in Field Position or Field Pre Fab Scenario
• Cutting Pipe/Pipe Supports with Oxy/Act Torch
• Rigging, Installing, and Dogging Pipe Joints to 1/8’’ Gaps, With No High Low Sides
• Pipe/Support Layout and Install
• 6010/7018 Uphill Procedures
• Fitting & Welding - Sockets, Thread O-Lets, RFSO Flange, RFWN Flange, and all other type of Welded Fittings
• Typical Material Types - Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Galvanized etc.

• SMAW Carbon sch 80 Open Root 6’’ 6G-Required
• SMAW Carbon sch 80 Open Root 2’’ 6G-Required
• GTAW Carbon sch 80 Open Root 2’’ 6G-A plus
• GTAW 316L Stainless sch 80 Open 2’’ 6G-A plus
• GMAW FCAW Carbon sch 80 Open Root 6’’ 6G-A plus
• SMAW FCAW Carbon sch 80 Open Root 6’’ 6G-A plus

Salary Range

$40-$50 per hour based on experience. (FLSA Non-Exempt)
