1st Shift - Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Are you skilled in operating industrial equipment like forklifts and electric pallet jacks? A local Kansas City, KS company is seeking a dedicated Material Handler Forklift operator to join their team! This is an evaluation hire (potential direct placement for the right candidate), with room for advancement and growth opportunities. This role involves receiving, inspecting, picking, and shipping a variety of products using specialized equipment.

PAY: $18.50/hr

SCHEDULE:  

1st Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Saturdays as needed.

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday; 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, Saturdays as needed.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Receive, inspect, pick, re-work, inventory, document, load, and ship unitized and non-unitized products.
• Utilize industrial equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stretch-wrappers, and pallet inverters.
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety and follow appropriate safety and security standards.
• Operate lift trucks efficiently throughout the shift, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Transport materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
• Load and unload materials manually or with lifting devices.
• Learn and master various functional categories including receiving, order picking, and truck loading.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong physical ability including standing, walking, lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs), and occasional crawling, squatting, kneeling, and lifting/carrying (51-100+ lbs).
• Ability to operate industrial equipment and wear required PPE (Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Safety Vest).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• 1-2 years of related experience in a warehouse environment.
