The Respiratory Care Therapist provides effective Respiratory Therapist services and set-up of related products for patients in the home setting, including: therapeutics, diagnostics, high tech ventilation, oxygen and other miscellaneous respiratory equipment.

Reports to: Assistant Manager of Respiratory Services

Job Location: Durham, NC

SUMMARY OF KEY JOB FUNCTION:

This is a field-based, hands-on respiratory therapist / leadership position that require a candidate with the drive and skill to be a respiratory caregiver, patient advocate and positive representative of PromptCare. The successful candidate must be proficient in all phases of respiratory care and must have the skills to lead a growing team of Respiratory Therapist clinicians.

Job Qualifications:

· Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory School and must have current RCP state licensure in North Carolina, in good standing

· Must willing to get cross-licensed in other states at the company’s expense

· Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance in good standing

· At least 2 years’ experience as a working Respiratory Therapist is required. Experience in the home setting is highly desirable.

· Must have the desire and skill to manage a team of Respiratory Therapists. Previous experience managing RTs in the field is highly desirable.

· CRTT or RRT certification

· Current CPR certification

· Active membership in professional society is desirable

· Excellent organizational and time management skills are required. Must be self-motivated

· Excellent verbal presentation skills to teach the patients about their therapy are required

· Organized with respect to meeting deadlines and getting the work done

· Strong interpersonal skills to deal with patients and their families in a professional, compassionate manner are required

· Must have adequate PC skills to use e-mail and update notes and other documentation electronically in a timely manner

· Strong work ethic and desire to serve our patients

Essential Job Functions:

· Evaluates patient experiences for opportunities to improve customer satisfaction

· Provides patients and family members with timely and accurate information, and takes appropriate corrective actions regarding our services to ensure complete satisfaction

· Ability to initiate and develop good working relationships with patients and family members is essential

· Ensures that the team plans daily events so as to be as efficient as possible with time management (e.g., minimizes travel time by planning routes ahead of time)

· Assists with the proper scheduling of set ups and follow up visits according to company policies and standards

· Ability to properly triage problems in the field in accordance with company standards and other verbal and written training policies

· Ensures that the team follows proper procedures for accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns, and most importantly, takes appropriate corrective actions

· Maintains strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures that they are applied consistently

· Ensures that the team maintains compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and SOPs at all times

· Fosters a culture wherein the team conducts activities with a mindset of delivering “white glove” service to the patients and family members

· Submits expense reports for travel at least once monthly and in a timely manner

· Projects a positive attitude at all times with patients and family members, and gets involved in PromptCare’s employee activities

Other Duties as Assigned:

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Able to work longer than normal hours with little or no notice, as needed

· Attend staff meetings, teleconferences and patient care conferences as needed

· Ability to lift a minimum weight of 35 pounds, and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, typing and use full range of body motions

· Understand and follow PromptCare’s employee policies and procedures
