DESCRIPTION: Responsible for implementing the various functions of the Center's human resources. The Generalist is responsible for the coordination of employment of licensed, non-licensed and non-certified staff, including, but not limited to, recruitment, orientation, employee relations, and administration of benefits. The HR Generalist also advises directors, managers, or administration in all HR practices to ensure Center compliance with applicable regulations.


SUPERVISION: Directly supervised by the Director of Human Resources.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires prolonged sitting, stooping and bending. May require moving up to 25 pounds. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephone and copiers.


FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage health benefit files (enrolling/cancellation) health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, long term disability, 403 retirement plan.
  • Assist supervisors with Paycom leave records.
  • Responsible for recordkeeping of time sheets with appropriate attachments/documentation.
  • Manage Leave Keeping auditing as required.
  • Responsible for monitoring providers CME requests and attendance.
  • Monitor and processes payment for providers CME reimbursements.
  • Assists with processing dues such as provider licenses, membership dues, etc. as stated in provider contract.
  • Knowledgeable of HR policies and procedures as well as applicable employment laws.
  • Provide employees assistance with Family Medical Leave Requests.
  • Knowledgeable of Worker's Compensation Claims.
  • Assist in reviewing submitted employment applications.
  • Assist with the scheduling/coordination of interviews for qualified applicants with Department Directors/Managers.
  • Assists in processing new employees, students, and volunteers with all required personnel.
  • Assists in providing evaluation forms (probationary and annual evaluations) on employees to supervisors as directed by Director of Human Resources.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee files and employment process.
  • Assist Fiscal with annual leave report.
  • Knowledgeable of the requirements for employment including recruiting and staffing.
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with universities, employment agencies and other recruitment resources.
  • Posting and advertising open positions and assisting in the recruitment process.
  • Prepare and maintain job documentation, job evaluation, and company salary structure systems.
  • Ability to conduct new hire orientation, development and training.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, develop and organize information, fulfilling transactions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee files and employment process.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
  • Manages and maintains employee files.
  • Recommend and/or help develop orientation programs and procedures for new employees.
  • Assist Director of Human Resources on special projects as directed (i.e. auditing of all employee files to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of the personnel policies for future references and for answering questions by supervisors or employees.
  • Facilitating actions to resolve the employee issues and escalating them to the appropriate management team.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited high school or GED program.
  • Bachelor's degree with specialization in Human Resources or Business Administration or five years of related work experience.
  • Bilingual in English or Spanish is preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ADP, & Peachtree Applications.
