Commercial Lending Originator

FreeStar Financial Credit Union is looking for an enterprising and dynamic Commercial Lending Originator. If you would love to use your skills in building relationships and enhancing the credit union's commercial portfolio, this may be the right role for you!

Salary: Base Pay + Commision

Job Location: Sterling Heights

Days: 5-day work week Monday-Friday. This position may require evenings or Saturdays as needed for member or community meetings. Ability and willingness to travel for trade shows, demonstrations and client meetings.

Hours: 40 plus anytime needed for business building.

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of the Commercial Lending Originator is to develop FreeStar Financial Credit Union's Commercial Lending business by building and enhancing relationships with new and existing members, as well as gathering and analyzing potential members' financial information to determine their qualifying status for commercial loans.

What You'll Do In This Role:

• Identify prospective customers, follow up on potential lending leads, and maintain relationships with existing members.

• Develop and maintain relationships in Commercial Real Estate, Building Trades, Commercial and/or Industrial Equipment industry, and other related industry groups.

• Work closely with the Marketing department to develop marketing strategies designed for target markets.

• Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities.

• Interview and answer any questions concerning loans and rates. Collate, review and verify loan documents necessary for the transaction.

• Interview and pre-qualify members and obtain all required or necessary documentation.

What You'll Bring To FreeStar Financial:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of two years of demonstrated success in an independent sales role in the financial industry.

• Existing knowledge and experience with commercial loan products and services required.

• Thorough understanding of the industry and industry trends.

• Familiarity with marketing strategies.
