Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Family Law Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys in handling family law cases. This is a full-time position based in our office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of family law cases, including divorce and child custody.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other resources.
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and declarations.
- Prepare and organize case files for court hearings and trials.
- Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court appearances.
- Conduct case management for multiple cases/tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
- Perform clerical duties, such as filing documents and answering phone calls.
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in family law.
- Strong knowledge of legal drafting and administrative procedures in family law cases.
- Proficient in proofreading legal documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.
- Familiarity with litigation processes and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy and completeness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
