We’re seeking an experienced advisor to support our Impact Measurement practice area. We are open to candidates qualified to fill advisor roles at a variety of different levels within the organization; 3-10 years of relevant experience conducting work in the monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) space and/or with applied research, data collection, and data analysis experience (quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods) is preferred. Consulting experience is not required but is an asset.

We are a small but mighty team and seek experienced, creative, and proactive problem solvers who can collaborate with teammates from a variety of backgrounds and who can immediately jump into a range of projects. New team members will hit the ground running to match our fast pace, working collaboratively on project teams and independently on deliverables. Successful candidates will be individuals who can both think big picture and pay attention to details, are strong communicators and action-oriented doers, and are open to feedback, iteration, and adaptation.

Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

  • Design and implement MEL frameworks and research projects that leverage MEL across multiple industries and topics.
  • Adjust and right-size MEL approaches and solutions based on client needs and capacity.
  • Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Design and implement surveys using multiple software platforms.
  • Conduct statistical analysis using tools like R, Python, Stata, or SPSS.
  • Communicate findings and learnings compellingly and visually for different audiences.
  • Maintain and implement MEL best practices internally and externally.

Project Management and Leadership

  • Support and manage multiple projects running concurrently, including leading teams and managing personnel.
  • Engage directly with clients to build trust, understand needs, and obtain feedback.
  • Conceptualize project needs and define action steps for accomplishing milestones and deliverables while meeting project deadlines.
  • Work closely with a team using human-centered design problem solving to inform user-centered MEL design and implementation.
  • Support internal capacity building, business development, and knowledge management.
Requirements:

Impact Measurement

  • Experience developing and overseeing implementation of MEL plans, processes, and products from design to dissemination strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing various types of mixed-methods evaluations, research studies, and/or monitoring programs.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically about data to define data collection approaches and analysis plans.
  • Experience designing and leading surveys, interviews, focus groups, and/or other forms of data collection.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including data cleaning, data quality review, data management, data coding, analysis, statistics, sampling methodologies, statistical analysis software, data collection, synthesis, and validation.
  • Experience designing theories of change and logical frameworks.
  • Understanding of best practices in experimental design concepts.

Collaboration and Client Engagement

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective and trusted working relationships with a geographically and culturally diverse range of stakeholders from various industries.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communications.
  • Proven ability to use empathy and others' perspectives to creatively frame engagements and surface possible solutions.
  • Ability to embrace positivity and joy in the virtual work environment.

Execution

  • Experience leading, managing and owning projects, tasks, and/or workstreams.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality and professional products within tight timeframes.
  • Experience creating compelling slide decks, executive briefings, guidance documents, and more.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex issues using strong analytical skills.
  • Well organized, attentive to detail, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaborative work style and openness/willingness to act on feedback.
  • Self-motivated with effective time management skills and an ability to proactively anticipate work requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Interest/skills in visual design and communication.
  • Interest and willingness to support a broad range of project topics and client types.
  • Ability to work and use skills outside of your comfort zone.

Other

  • Desire for continuous learning and growth, especially learning by doing.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
  • Must be based in the United States.

Type of Position: Full-time preferred. This role will be remote with occasional travel for client engagements.
