Job Summary & Deliverables
Co-occurring Reentry and Empowerment (CORE) program offers services to adult male or female criminal offenders suffering from co-occurring disorders including substance abuse and mental health. The 16-bed facilities have been designed to provide wrap-around services both onsite and in the community, integrating mental health and substance abuse treatment approaches with the ultimate goal of successful reentry and reduction in recidivism. This will be accomplished by empowering consumers, promoting abstinence from substance abuse, improving positive emotional functioning, and promoting accountability.
The Behavioral Health Technician assists the multi-disciplinary treatment team to provide therapeutic and daily living services and structure to clients within a modified therapeutic community. The BHT also supports the workflow of the milieu and assists with de-escalation and emotional regulation.
Essential Functions
- Models and teaches independent living skills
- Engages clients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals
- Interacts with clients, observes behaviors, and communicates significant observations to treatment team
- Distributes medications and follows medication management procedures
- Collects urine analysis screens
- Performs routine room and living-area inspections
- Coordinates care with internal and external providers
- Transports clients to off-campus appointments
- Completes and maintains required documentation

Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of behavioral health or social services experience
- Previous experience with medication management
