Job Description
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are looking for a Digital Product Manager to join the Web and Digital Strategy Team during a time of great momentum and fast development. Reporting to the Senior Digital Product Manager, the Fixed-Term Digital Product Manager will help to manage the FAMSF digital product portfolio which currently includes FAMSF.org—the official website of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco—and other public facing digital offerings to deliver first class content, commerce, education, and interpretation experiences online. Their primary focus will be the implementation of a new ticketing system.

The ideal candidate has a user-centric approach to product development, very strong analytical skills and a track record of delivering successful content-rich websites and web applications, preferably for cultural institutions and/or in the entertainment and ticketing industries. Working closely with external agencies, designers, web developers and internal stakeholders, the Fixed-Term Digital Product Manager will focus on select products and projects centered on new technology integrations, ongoing enhancements and fixes to FAMSF.org, and provide support for other products and projects under the purview of the Product team as needed.

As a self-starting, analytically inclined, and organized Fixed-Term Digital Product Manager, they develop close working relationships with cross-departmental stakeholders, develop expertise in their product area(s), and closely monitor testing and product performance while adhering to established timelines. They ensure that their areas of ownership in the Digital Product roadmap execute on the development of world-class products that meet KPIs and the Museum’s Mission.

This position is for a fixed-term of 18 months.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Own select established products and projects, prioritizing tasks to meet requirements and ensure successful and timely product launches
  2. Manage aspects of the product lifecycle from ongoing discovery and testing to the launch and maintenance phases
  3. Provide and support technical project management from project scoping, planning, progress tracking, timeline development, and supporting documentation
  4. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, and per requirements and standards
  5. Regularly report on project progress, create and maintain status briefs
  6. Acts as primary contact with external agencies/partners and internal stakeholders, and coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors/partners for timely execution
  7. Acts as liaison between FAMSF technical teams on matters and projects that have an impact on the web user experience and website back-end and front-end functionalities
  8. Support decision making providing regular data-driven reports on project advancements
  9. Identify and write detailed user stories and tasks for developers, support testing and execution
  10. Collaborate cross-departmentally to foster cohesion around the overall product strategy
  11. May be responsible for training internal staff on select systems and products
  12. Participate in SCRUM and sprint planning meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years of product management experience developing and managing websites
  • Experience bringing ticketing, membership and donation platforms online (such as ACME, Ticketure, Tessitura or similar systems)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Track record of successfully launching new websites and digital products in the culture, education or entertainment sectors
  • Extensive understanding of website architectures, infrastructure and content management systems. Bonus if familiar with online product catalogs and e-commerce platforms
  • Experience in website development, product management, SEO, QA, analytics, and agile/SCRUM project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of user interface design best practices and familiar with user research
  • Knowledge of databases and data migration processes and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, proactively addresses issues as they arise
  • Comfortable diagnosing and identifying solutions for technical problems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively and build consensus in a highly demanding and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Experience with effectively using project management software such as JIRA and Asana
  • Diplomatic, results-driven, dedicated and able to maintain sense of humor while working under pressure
  • Experience with web design and development agencies highly appreciated

The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision and 401(k), and paid time off.

This fixed-term position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Hybrid schedules typically include at least 3 days a week onsite and up to two days per week working remotely.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000-110,000. The final offer amount within this range will be based on experience and internal equity.
