DMBA (Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators) is a non-profit organization that administers benefits for companies who are owned or affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
DMBA is looking for an entry-level software developer to be part of our Platforms development team. Our developers utilize a robust development platform to create processes and systems to deliver tasks to the right people at the right time. Projects range from complex, secure healthcare processing to simple business workflows.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Utilize the Appian platform and other tools and technologies to develop solutions to business problems by following best software development practices
- Design and implement solutions from the bottom up, including database design, application architecture, user interface design, configuration and deployment
- Integrate with various back-end services, API's, and databases
- Collaborate with fellow team members and end users to gather and refine project specifications
- Maintain and support existing workflow solutions
- Participate in peer reviews of software design, coding and testing
REQUIRED FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
- Object-oriented programming experience (Java preferred)
- Relational database design principles and concepts
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Minimum typing of 50 WPM
HIGHLY DESIRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- BPM technology experience, Appian preferred
- Proficient in Java/J2EE, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
- Familiarity with concepts of MVC, JDBC, and RESTful
- Experience with both external and embedded databases
- Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Familiarity with continuous integration
- RESTful API experience
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field - or - equivalent experience
