Database Management Analyst

Geodesicx, Inc. is seeking a Database Management Analyst in the Charleston, SC area who will be instrumental in providing comprehensive systems administration support for a variety of critical tasks.

Responsibilities:

• System planning, deployments, user acceptance testing, and managing production environments, ensuring a seamless transition from development to final production.
• Function primarily as a systems administrator with a focus on "back-end" or infrastructure systems administration.
• Provide support for the IBM Rational and Jazz family of products. This encompasses a range of IBM applications such as Engineering Lifecycle Management, Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert), Engineering Test Management (formerly Rational Quality Manager), Engineering Requirement Door Next, DOORS 9.x, DOORS Web Access, Engineering Systems Design Rhapsody with Model Manager, Rational Asset Manager, Rational Publishing Engine, and Jazz Reporting Service. The candidate is expected to provide IBM-related service desk support, addressing issues and recommending upgrades.
• Support PTC’s Windchill system and server maintenance. This includes providing technical service support for all Windchill software products and Windchill service desk support. This role covers a range of responsibilities from handling user issues to recommending upgrades for Windchill hardware and software applications. The candidate will also assist users with functional questions, account management, and guidance.

Requirements:

• CSWF Designation: IAT Level 2 Required
• Must demonstrate deep knowledge and experience in database management and systems administration, particularly with IBM and Windchill products.
• Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. Expertise will be vital in maintaining the integrity and functionality of the systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs.
• The role demands expertise in administering both physical and virtual resources, including Web Servers, Application Servers, Database Servers, Authentication Servers, and License Servers.
• Ten (10) years with a Master’s degree and 14 years with a Bachelor’s degree of professional experience administering, testing, and implementing computer databases which may include coordinating computer database changes; implementing security measures to safeguard computer databases; and maintaining databases within an application area; individual shall be capable of working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
