Superintendent

As a Superintendent at Talent Source, you will oversee and coordinate shipyard operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. Below are the key responsibilities and requirements for this position:

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of shipyard operations, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control.
• Oversee the planning and execution of ship repair, maintenance, and construction projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project progress and performance metrics, such as schedule adherence, budget variance, and quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, promote a culture of safety, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including supervisors, foremen, and craft workers, to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement among team members.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, work orders, and change orders, and ensure proper documentation for billing and invoicing purposes.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and senior management to provide updates on project status, address concerns, and solicit feedback.

Requirements:

• Temp Services and aircraft carrier experience a plus.
• Previous experience as a superintendent or project manager in the shipyard or maritime industry.
• Knowledge of ship repair and construction processes, equipment, and materials.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the shipyard industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required.
• Professional certification in project management or a relevant field is a plus.
