Showroom Porter

Sheffield Furniture & Interiors is looking for an experienced Showroom Assistant and Porter with a genuine passion for helping others and a knack for maintaining a welcoming retail, showroom environment. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Due to business requirements, availability on Saturdays is necessary. The working hours for this position are Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30am to 5:30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with moving and wrapping furniture and accessories
• Participate in receiving and attending deliveries as required
• Maintain showroom supplies and restock as needed
• Perform touch-up painting within the showroom
• Aid in inventory management tasks
• Conduct basic cleaning duties such as vacuuming, dusting, and trash disposal
• Hang pictures and accessories in the showroom when necessary
• Support shipping and receiving operations for luxury furniture and accessories
• Help rearrange furniture and accessories within the showroom space
• Care for area rugs through regular maintenance
• Perform basic maintenance tasks like changing air filters and ceiling tiles

• High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and management
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a maintenance/housekeeping position is preferred
• Experience working in the furniture industry a plus

• Availability to work Tuesdays through Saturdays, with typical hours of 9:30am to 5:30pm
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and a clear driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Capable of lifting objects up to 60 pounds
• Lift, carry and climb ladders
• Fluent in English

• Hourly pay ranging from $20 to $25 based on experience level.
