Director of Planning - External Services

This role has oversight of the tactical execution of our dismantle teams and offsite aircraft as well as the vendor relationships that intersect these functions. This is an operational leadership role providing oversight, support, and direction to a diverse and distributed team to ensure objectives around operational readiness, on time delivery, quality, service, and margin are met.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a broad understanding of procurement best practices” and a well-rounded knowledge of commercial aviation, aircraft components, and related regulatory, safety, and technical requirements. This role may require travel up to 50% during some parts of the year to support dismantle teams and vendor relationships, however, will be primarily based out of our corporate office in Kansas City, MO. 

Job duties:

• Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to teams to support asset harvesting processes to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders. 
• Develop cost reduction strategies and savings plans with dismantle and storage facilities, equipment and transportation.
• Apply knowledge of aircraft, aircraft storage, storage facilities, contractors, related equipment and how to resource, leverage, find, and logistically utilize/place the same to support rapidly changing business requirements and ensure customer requirements are met.
• Work closely with all departments -in particular commercial programs, operations, sales, quality and warehouse- to ensure accurate and timely response to internal and external customers. Identify and documenting project issues.
• Authorize purchase orders, support price negotiation, and approve payments to support the procurement process.
• Analyze data, including requirements for planning, prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.
• Maintain and track equipment, tooling resources between projects.
• Daily project status reporting to key stakeholders
• Create, implement, monitor and manage best practices. While recommending resolutions to project issues to appropriate stakeholders and executing resolutions based on stakeholder guidance
