A little about the job....

A pharmacy technician assists a pharmacist in the process of filling a prescription.  The technician will perform pharmaceutical care tasks under the control and guidance of a licensed pharmacist.  A technician must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy and obtain continuing education hours pursuant with that registration yearly.

Qualifications for the job...

• High school education or equivalent required. 

• Ability to read and write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make arithmetical calculations.

• Require basic typing ability of 20 wpm to access data in pharmacy computer system.

• Certification as a pharmacy technician required.    

• Six months' of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with I.V. admixture service experience.

• Ability to provide guidance and training to other pharmacy technicians and students. 

• Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
