Warehouse Associate

A local philanthropic non-profit organization is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join their growing team. Their mission is to assist those in need in Orange County with resources for food, shelter, and personalized supportive counsel and aid; helping clients bridge the gap from dependency to self-sufficiency.

The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for general warehouse work. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with pay starting at $19-$20/hour. The hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

Warehouse Associate Responsibilities:

• Carry out and model best safety practices while in the warehouse while operating warehouse equipment.
• Receive donated food; weigh and record receipt of food, sort and eliminate food items.
• Unload, sort, and properly store products in designated areas.
• Communicate effectively, organize, and take initiative.
• Follow instructions, including food safety guidelines.
• Complete paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
• Assure cleanliness of equipment and cleaning the warehouse.

Warehouse Associate Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Basic computer skills: E-mail, Internet, basic typing skills for texting and entering timesheets.
•  Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Regularly required to stand, move around the warehouse, stoop, reach, use hands, and bend.
• Ability to lead a diverse group of volunteers and work collaboratively with staff.
• Works well independently with minimum supervision.
• Positive attitude and ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
