Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a Welding Engineer to join the Quality Assurance Team in Fenton, MO. This role is part of a team that is responsible for managing and implementing Nooter/Eriksen's Quality programs and systems, assuring that customers' specific and industry requirements are met or exceeded, and providing superior products and services. This position offers the flexibility of remote work for candidates residing outside the St. Louis area, following an initial period of in-office training. Occasional visits to our St. Louis office may be necessary, as business needs require.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Welding Engineer reports directly to the Manager of Quality Control and will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of welding and fabrication requirements for various projects in accordance with industry codes, company standards, and customer specifications, verifying compliance to requirements through the review of procedures and documentation, solving various welding, heat treatment, and fabrication issues, and providing consultation on the fabrication of various metals.

As the Welding Engineer, you will develop company specifications for welding, heat treatment, and fabrication, approve welding, heat treatment, and fabrication documents, resolve welding, heat treatment, and fabrication issues, review contract for welding, heat treatment, and fabrication requirements, and provide project execution support as directed. This position requires 5% - 10% travel (international and domestic).

QUALIFICATIONS. We want the person selected for this role to be successful! The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this position:

  • At least five (5) years of experience, preferably in power generation or oil & gas fields.
  • Understanding of fabrication methods, heat treatment, welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, etc.) and metallurgy. Ability to read technical drawings. Extensive knowledge of ASME & AWS Codes.
  • BS preferably in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Related degrees and equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, detail-oriented, highly professional, organized, trustworthy team player, with proficiency in English.

Ability to read, write, problem-solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
