Medela LLC is seeking a Product Development Engineer-Hardware, Medical Device

This role will support the hardware engineering group in developing multiple PCBs for our capital equipment project. It will encompass multiple aspects of hardware design, including component selection to meet product requirements, schematic entry, PCB layout, and component (symbol and geometry) creation.

Key Experience Needed: Product Development Engineer-Hardware, Medical Device

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in design and implementation of electromechanical systems required.
  • Familiar with software development and computer languages, including C, C++, and Python is a plus.
  • Solid track record of accomplishments and engineering success.
  • Strong systems engineering aptitude.
  • Demonstrated success in difficult decision-making and problem-resolution.

Position Responsibilities: Product Development Engineer-Hardware, Medical Device

  • Design and analysis of analog, digital and mixed-signal circuits. Project scope includes microcontroller-based systems, battery/power management, BLDC / stepper motor control, power circuitry, wireless communications (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC), cabling, connectors, audio drivers, and other user interface electronics.
  • Experience and use of Altium design suite is a must, both schematic entry and PCB layout.
  • Altium 365 experience is a plus.
  • STM32 driver development experience is a plus.
  • Performs circuit design, simulation and analysis. Performs engineering hardware verification (bench testing) of design.
  • Collaborates with other development groups and technical support functions within a cross functional project team.
  • Develops processes and procedures for A365 implementation
