Transportation Engineer - 1935059

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in developing and maintaining the state's transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of transportation projects, including highways, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure elements.
• Conduct traffic studies, analyze data, and develop solutions to improve traffic flow and safety.
• Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Manage project budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including IDOT staff, contractors, consultants, and the public.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in transportation engineering technologies and best practices.
• May provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permitting processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Valid Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering, preferably with IDOT experience.
• Proven experience in the design and development of transportation projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, skills.
• Proficient in the use of engineering software and design tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
• Valid driver's license.
