Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transportation Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in developing and maintaining the state's transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of transportation projects, including highways, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure elements.
- Conduct traffic studies, analyze data, and develop solutions to improve traffic flow and safety.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for assigned projects.
- Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Manage project budgets and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including IDOT staff, contractors, consultants, and the public.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in transportation engineering technologies and best practices.
- May provide technical expertise and guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Valid Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering, preferably with IDOT experience.
- Proven experience in the design and development of transportation projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal, skills.
- Proficient in the use of engineering software and design tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
- Valid driver's license.
