Houseman/Housekeeper

Description:

Your chief responsibility will be to provide a clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and safe environment for the clients, staff and visitors.

Schedule is Thursday-Monday. Must be able to work both shifts: 7:00am to 3:30pm and 1:30pm to 10:00pm.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• 1. Assist the Housekeeping team with cleaning schedules during busy turnover/stayover days.

  2.. Uphold and maintain standards of cleanliness, customer service, and property grounds (including rooms, common areas, and exterior spaces

  3. Report and schedule necessary maintenance items, collaborating with the maintenance team for skilled professional assistance

  4. Physical fitness to meet job requirements, including bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, and extended periods of standing

  5. Previous experience in Houseman, Room Attendant, or building maintenance is advantageous.

  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage responsibilities

  7. Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures and clean

  8. Knowledge of floor care techniques and custodial practices is a plus

  9. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

  10. Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time

  11. Breakdown of tables, chairs, platforms/stages, and other equipment. Return all unused equipment in clean condition to proper storage area.

  12. Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision

  13. Muti-tasks efficiently and follow up and follow through.

  14. Set up tables and chairs to meet the function specifications.

  15. flexible time if possible.

  16. Properly clean meeting space at beginning during and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, moping polishing wiping and scrubbing.

  17. Heavy lifting of not more than 50 lbs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in institutional Housekeeping or like position preferred.
• Laundry experience helpful but not necessary.
• If in recovery, one (1) year continuous sobriety preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, clients and visitors.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize workdays.
• Ability to practice accepted methods for ensuring universal precautions and blood borne pathogens.
• Ability to understand and follow the procedures for reporting hazardous or unsafe conditions to maintenance.
• Ability to display positive attitude toward all clients, visitors and staff.
• Ability to show a strong, positive image within the department.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
