About Us

Medical Physics Consulting (MPC) is seeking a full time Therapy Medical Physicist based in Jefferson City, MO to join our growing team located in the Midwest. MPC is a new Apex Physics Partner and is an innovative and growing medial physics consulting practice servicing clients throughout Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. MPC's goal is to provide local support and involvement in the communities we serve. MPC physicists give clients “peace of mind” that all their medical physics needs are addressed. Physicists must respond to diverse, complex questions, and drive our clients towards the highest standards for their radiation therapy and radiation safety programs.

MPC physicists work with state-of-the-art equipment to provide a range of radiation oncology services to keep a physicist engaged and ensure development of a well-rounded set of skills and growth in the industry. Physicists are supported by a dynamic support team known for a focus on building partnerships and a passion for excellence.

The Role

We are searching for a highly skilled, compassionate Therapy Medical Physicist to join our dedicated team of experts. Our candidates must be well-trained in Radiation Oncology and be able to work in a collaborative team environment. Clinic Information:
  • This position is located in Jefferson City at Goldschmidt Cancer Center.
  • This clinic will be equipped with all Varian equipment, Sun Nuclear, and Rad Calc 3D.
  • This role will join a great team of 1 Dosimetrist, 1 Physician, and 4 Therapists.
What You’ll Do
  • Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements, as well as yearly calibration on all treatment units.
  • Monitor equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department to ensure that it is functioning correctly and safely.
  • Maintain regulatory agency records and reports.
  • Analyze alternative treatment plans and supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions.
  • Implement assessment/treatment and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.
  • Perform additional duties, as needed.
What You’ll Need
  • Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics.
  • A board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility as demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in therapy physics. 
  • 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret regulations.
  • A willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and fellow colleagues.
  • Demonstrate initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects.
  • Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires ability to use and move equipment.
  • Requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, stopping, lifting, carrying.
  • Exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to radiation therapy setting.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location, as well as candidate experience, education level and expertise.
