SMALL ENGINE MECHANIC

Summary:

We are a company specializing in the sale of Commercial and Consumer Outdoor Power Equipment products in the Boston Area.

We seek a talented, self-motivated individual who is looking to be an integral part of an energetic, growing team.  Qualified candidate will possess excellent mechanical and follow up skills and should be able to communicate effectively. All applicants should be detail-orientated with good organizational and computer skills. Mayer Power Equipment is an outdoor power equipment dealer in retail sales, parts, and service.  We sell and service Stihl home use and commercial chainsaws, blowers, and Stihl handheld equipment.

Responsibilities include diagnosis and repair of the brands we sell, positive interaction with customers when selling a job, and willingness to be a team player.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

·        Experience in engine diagnosis of Stihl engines.

·       Experience in diagnosing handheld equipment.

·       Experience in electrical and wiring diagnosis and repair.

·       Must present a well-groomed positive impression and relate well with customers and staff.

·       Be willing to learn and grow.

·       Must be self motivated and a team player.

·       Regular and punctual attendance for all scheduled work hours.

·        Manages day-to-day repair facility.

·       Resolves customer issues quickly and effectively.

·        Services customers.

·       Maintains company visual presentation standards.

·       Implements and enforces all store operation procedures to control inventory.

·       Operates POS register system with proficiency and ensures that E-Mail and other functions are utilized properly.

·       Ability to supervise and carry out day-to-day operations of store including stock, sale set-up straightening, visual presentation, and cleaning.

·       Communicates regularly with Operations Manager.

·       Ensures that all corporate office memos and instructions are read, properly completed, and filed within the given time frame.

·       Knowledgeable in personal and store’s statistics. Works toward achieving personal and store goals.

Other Functions of the Position Include:

·        Providing quality product repair and service.

·        Use expertise to provide customers with options on repair/replacement type decisions.

·        Assist in maintaining an accurate schedule and record of maintenance.

·        Providing technical support to store manager to ensure accuracy in parts ordering.

·        Safely maintaining and operating service vehicle to ensure service accuracy and customer satisfaction.

·        Must have a mastery of mechanical repair and maintenance of equipment. The ability to diagnose complex mechanical problems and successfully repair/operate machinery.

·        Provides Operations Manager with ways to continually improve business.

·        Actively participates in mall meetings.

·        Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.

Position Qualifications:

·       Expertise in small engine repair.

·       Ability to read, write and comprehend basic mathematics and instructions.

·       Time management skills.

·       Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and use equipment such as hammers, ladders, merchandising hardware and two-wheelers, etc.

·       Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends on Saturday if necessary, before/after store hour meetings.
