HVAC Technician

Kauai Mechanical Inc., a local mechanical contractor, is looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join their team as an Service Technician working in their Service or Installations Department.

The HVAC Technician works under the supervision of the Department Manager. The primary function of the HVAC Technician is to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and installation of various HVAC systems.

Job Functions

• Diagnose and repair HVAC problems, including component installation and replacement.
• The ability to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC systems and/or the ability to install various HVAC systems.
• Possess the technical skills to identify and isolate problems clearly communicating what is needed to come to a resolution.
• Estimate costs of installation, repairs, and services to customers.
• Ability to talk confidently with the customer, acting as a liaison between the customer and office.
• Perform work with a focus on Safety and Quality.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized job site. Must leave customer jobsite cleaner than it was at arrival.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used within the company CRM.
• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
• Any additional duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.

Job Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with a variety of personality types.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete work to a deadline.
• HVAC related experience.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Universal EPA Certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
