Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist

Seeking past experience servicing consumer loans (auto loans)! You will be on the phone with members servicing loans, researching and resolving loan issues. Heavy title work - research and resolve title issues, communicate with dealerships, DMV, other financial institutions and members.

Target hiring Pay Range: $17.39 - $21.74 per hour ($36K - $46K)

Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.”

Responsible for completing requests from members on open consumer loans, and monitoring the loan files for irregularities that pose a risk to the credit union.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises.
2. Perform a Welcome Call and/or verification of loan issuance with the member upon new loan funding.
3. Complete QA reviews of newly funded loans and/or completed file maintenance transactions.
4. Monitor tracking record 30 (collateral tracking record) on member’s accounts to ensure accuracy of collateral securing the loan; maintain centralized title files and imaging of titles; ensure the timely release of titles on paid loans; establish contact with auto dealerships, financial institutes, department of motor vehicle, and members to secure titles and APCU lien perfection on collateral.
5. Assist with loan calls to provide loan payment information, debt protection inquiries, letter of guarantee requests, loan rates, loan payoffs quotes, GAP and/or warranty claim questions, or address other member questions regarding their existing loan status.
6. Complete request for file maintenance such as due date changes, Skip-A-Pay, interest rate corrections, payment corrections/recasts, modifications, and payment method changes. Complete and provide members with the appropriate loan modification or subsequent action form.
7. Prepare all loan application paperwork for scanning to Synergy. Scan, audit and index information to member files; Pull files for credit committee.
8. Monitor applicable reports, QA, title release, UCC filing, boat/vehicle title tracking, insurance (vehicle, boat, motorcycle) monitoring.
9. File claims and post payments for debt protection (death, disability, and involuntary unemployment), GAP, insurance, and warranty,
10. Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Two or more years of experience supporting consumer loan processing or servicing.
2. High School diploma or GED required; college preferred.
3. Strong communication skills. Outstanding phone etiquette. Diplomacy.
4. Must have a positive, can do, attitude.
5. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications.
6. Knowledge of credit union products and services.
7. Able to work in a fast-paced, production environment.
8. Able to multi-task.
9. Detailed oriented.
10. Excellent attendance/punctuality

Job Requirements:

Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, typewriter, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 20 pounds.
