Position Summary:

As the largest slush brand in the United States, Frazil continues to break sales records. A key driver of our success is the way we leverage technology throughout our operation. We’re as much a tech company as we are a slushy company, and our technology team is core to the infrastructure of Frazil operations.

As the team grows, our Software Engineering Manager will play a vital role in the success of our software development team and overall company initiatives. As our lead engineer, you will work closely with the Director of Technology in managing development team output and individually assigned development projects. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal team output including sprint management, project planning, goal alignment, and individual software development efforts. Note: This role does require a willingness and ability to code when needed.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually

Key Responsibilities Include:

Technical Expertise: Bringing a deep understanding of current software development technologies and best practices, working closely with the team to provide technical direction, and partnering with the Director of Technology in future software planning.

Leadership & Team Management: Providing leadership and guidance to the software development team, fostering a collaborative team culture, and owning the accuracy of project estimates, timelines, and resource planning. Ideally, you’ll bring experience building and managing roadmaps and KPI’s.

Project Management: Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables, and identifying project risks or bottlenecks. You have experience defining metrics to manage project progress and risk.

Quality Assurance: Implementing and enforcing coding standards and best practices, ensuring delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions, and proposing solutions for future improvements.

Communication & Collaboration: Acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering open communication within the team and across departments, and manage communication for various external vendors.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

8+ years’ work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years’ experience with an advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience working in and/or leading full stack development using some of thee technologies: Java, Python, React JS, Spring, Maven, MongoDB.
Experience working in high-growth environments with external software consumers including B2B.
A demonstrated track record of managing projects and delivering on deadlines. This includes requirements gathering, scope creep management, estimates, team leadership.
This role includes presentation building, managing larger data sets, basic analytics and requires advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point.
