Hourly: $33.94-51.89 (rate varies and is based on collective bargaining agreement)


Position Overview:


As a member of Seattle Symphony’s Resident Technical Staff, the successful candidate will provide technical stage support to a variety of stage productions ranging from, but not limited to: tours, concerts, recordings, auditions, business meetings, lectures and weddings. Resident Technical Staff with the Seattle Symphony work in all departments as needed, but are generally assigned as they are most proficient. This positioning will require lighting and power proficiency. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Seattle Symphony and Local 15 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and is on-call work with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.


Job Responsibilities:


· Set up, program, and operate permanently and temporarily installed lighting and power distribution systems for the performing arts, concerts, meetings, and a variety of other events at Benaroya Hall.

· LD and busk for concerts as needed, in coordination with Lighting Manager’s designs and advances. Work with artists day of show to build and write cues as needed.

· Coordinate with Technical Director, Lighting Manager, Event Service Representatives and clients on lighting, power distribution, equipment needs and operations for each individual event.

· Support a variety of event requirements as they pertain to stage set-up and tear-down.

· Other stage work as necessary, including but not limited to stage management, audio, video, props, stage carpentry, and rigging support.

Requirements:

Qualifications:·


3-6 years of production electrician experience for concert, theatrical systems, and power distribution preferred.

· Knowledge of programming on a variety of large scale consoles, specifically ETC Eos systems. Experience with GrandMA a plus.

· Experienced as an LD, for live events such as theatrical performances, corporate meetings, and concerts.

· Availability to work nights, evenings, weekends and/or holidays and extended hours

· Familiarity with AutoCAD and Lightwrite a plus.

· Work safely with electrical equipment, company switch disconnects, and tools.

· Very comfortable working at heights with fall protection.

· Ability to work efficiently and affably with other stage crew, Technical Director, Music Director, orchestra personnel, administrative staff, clients, and guest artists in alignment with Seattle Symphony’s culture of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.

· Possess a valid Washington State Driver License at time of application.

· Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

· Ability to work with members of the production team, event personnel, clients, and event officials.

· Normal hearing acuity. Occasional loud moderate to loud noise levels.

· Lift and carry heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs, along with frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.

· Accept exposure to high sound levels, take safety precautions and follow procedures.

· Ability to maneuver safely and work on ladders, catwalks, and while using harnessed fall protection.

· Able to work frequent long and varied hours
