Where You'll Come In
WeHolden is looking for a Social Media Manager [REMOTE U.S.-based] to lead social for one of our liquor brand clients. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for conceiving, planning, executing, and posting creative social content, with the goals of maximizing reach and engagement, and helping to continue building the brand alongside the client. We are looking for someone who can conceive genuinely social, strategically sound ideas, and, most important, execute on those ideas. This role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to our brand strategy and actions across social platforms, to grow a passionate audience base.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy:
- Develop and maintain a cohesive social media strategy inclusive of:
- Channel Strategy
- Tone of Voice
- Content Strategy (Inclusive of E-commerce & Merch Store)
- Planned Spontaneity / Newsroom
- Hashtags
- Develop social – first campaigns that ladder to clear objectives
- Create hashtag strategies for campaigns/initiatives as needed, as well as evergreen hashtags to use on day-to-day content
- Participate in internal and external holistic marketing brainstorms with team members
- Leverage social media to grow ECRM database
- Develop and maintain a cohesive social media strategy inclusive of:
- Content Development:
- Develop quarterly content briefs that are aligned with the brand team & brief content partners
- Develop & implement quarterly social content calendars that are original to each platform, working in collaboration with agency partners and the client brand team
- Ideate post creative/copy honing in on the brand tone of voice
- Manage content shoots with agency ensuring not only social needs are captured but website, PR, E-commerce, CRM assets needs are as well for efficiencies
- Ensure the content calendar aligns closely with yearly marketing strategy
- Apply best practices to creative, copywriting and social media posts to ensure legal compliance
- Ensure all content has been shared with respective stakeholders and approved by client legal
- Community Management:
- Monitor and manage owned social channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram by:
- Responding to questions, comments and concerns
- Owning brand tone of voice in all community interactions; and
- Proactively flagging opportunities for the brand and escalating issues in a timely manner
- Manage influencer content alongside agency partners to fit within content calendars
- Run newsroom – being abreast on daily pop culture trends and notifying team members of any unplanned and planned spontaneity moments that make sense for the brand
- Test, schedule and publish all approved content on social media channels in collaboration with agency partners
- Escalate all customer service issues to the brand customer service team to manage
- Monitor and manage owned social channels like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram by:
- Paid Social:
- Work with agency partners to create, produce, and release paid social posts as needed on a monthly or quarterly basis
- Reporting:
- Provide monthly reporting
- Cohesive of any paid, organic and social listening for all channels monthly
- Monthly competitive analysis
- Schedule monthly reviews
- Analyze key metrics and adjust content calendar as needed
- Provide monthly reporting

- Track performance on aligned KPIs

Key Skills / Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in managing social media channels, preferably for a brand (alcohol experience preferred but not required), entertainment, sports, or cultural organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related degree or equivalent work experience
- In-depth knowledge and passion for the latest best practices, tools, and trends on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Instagram Reels, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), as well as sponsored/partner content protocols
- Experience producing content using native tools on Instagram and familiarity with social media publishing platforms
- Strong writing skills with a marketing point of view for what resonates with consumers
- Strong business acumen with ability to think strategically
- Proactive, collaborative, organized, curious, problem solver
- Strong project management skills with an attention to detail, deadlines, collaboration, and internal communications
- Excellent presentation skills. Ability to describe, explain marketing strategies and tactics to stakeholders
