Automation Mechanical Technician

Duties/Responsibilities:

Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Ability to prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities.
Ensure quality standards are always met.
Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications.
Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures.
Assist in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
Adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Basic understanding of automation systems including but not limited to process control, instrumentation, and servo driven ladder logic.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational/Trade training or A.S in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed.
