The Warehouse & Inventory Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for the Warehouse functions of Receiving, Shipping, materials management and the Inventory process. This must be accomplished through accurate material counts, efficient data entry, prompt response to questions, resolving all open issues arising from receiving, shipping and inventory concerns, and the provision of award-winning service to our internal and external customers. Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and excellent verbal/written communicative skills are a requirement of this role.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RECEIVING FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for documenting the receiving process for all inbound shipments and parcel deliveries, ensuring all items listed on the shipping documents is present and in good condition on the manifest or packing slip is present and accurate.
  • Document on shipper’s documents any/all exceptions- quantity, damage, etc. Notify supervisor prior to the delivery driver leaving anytime there is an exception to the shipping manifest.
  • Enter all items received on the Purchase Order in the software system of record (ERP).
  • Submit all receiving paperwork to the purchasing department no later than the following day.
  • Ensure open lines of communication are maintained with the purchasing, accounting and warehouse.


SHIPPING FUNCTIONS

  • Print manifests and compile all paperwork for customer deliveries. Ensure the delivery package is in the delivery truck or ready for the Common Carrier prior to delivery.
  • Interact with customers as necessary and in the required format (Phone, email, etc.). Confirm deliveries as per protocol, answer and address incoming calls concerning upcoming deliveries and email updates as necessary.
  • Review Interstate drive paperwork that is turned in after delivery runs and make sure all paperwork is completed, expenses are documented and there are no open delivery issues.
  • Forward delivery paperwork to account on a timely basis.
  • If any windows were returned, make sure the necessary RMA’s are completed and notify the Production Manager of his/her designee of the returned item(s).

INVENTORY FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct Cycle Counts at the frequency and scope established by your supervisor.
  • Enter data using hand-held scanners or directly into the ERP as necessary. Ensure that all data entered, modified, or updated is done so accurately.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with your manager and the Purchasing Manager concerning inventory levels. Make sure that significant adjustments are communicated to all necessary parties.

SAMPLES

  • Conduct separate cycle counts of Sample inventory and report totals to the Sales Department’s designee.
  • Maintain open communication lines with the Specialty Supervisor and Sales Department with respect to the manufacture of Sample items.
  • Coordinate the storage of newly manufactured or returned samples and update inventory accordingly.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Report all incidents of product, equipment and facility damage caused by yourself or others immediately to your supervisor.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S functions, daily sweeping and organizing work area.
  • Do not accept or pass on any product which does not meet quality standards.
  • Consistently provide feedback regarding daily issues to management and other team members.
  • Make it your goal to maintain good attendance. You are expected to be at your workstation and ready to work at the start of each shift and after break periods. Report for work as scheduled and remain at work for the entire workday. Understand, support, and follow all necessary safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Wear all Personal Protective Equipment necessary for the task being performed; ensure that PPE is functioning properly. Notify supervisor if PPE needs replacement.
  • Support your work group and all those you work with by maintaining a positive attitude, staying engaged, showing respect for others, and demonstrating a willingness to cooperate with others.
  • Work overtime through extended workdays or additional workdays as needed.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or when directed to do so.
Requirements:


PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50# without assistance.
  • Frequent Stooping, kneeling, and squatting throughout the shift.
  • Climbing and reaching as needed.
  • Frequent pulling and pushing using arms and legs throughout shift.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull and walk as needed to perform your work.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout shift, up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Balance required for some tasks.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent training/education required.
  • Ability to read English, write legibly and perform basic addition and subtraction of numbers.
  • Basic computer knowledge including the ability to navigate in a windows-based system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, warehouse management systems and using RF scanners preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate electric pallet jack or forklift, once trained and certified.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet company attendance requirements.
