Staff Accountant

Our Client:

Our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. The position will be in-office in Rochester, NY with a salary range of $55-70k. Who We’re Looking For:

Do you enjoy analyzing and interpreting accounting records to ensure accurate financials and reports within an organization? In this role you will be reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for various accounting tasks including account reconciliations, journal entries, and report preparation. You will also be assisting with monthly general ledger closing and collaborating on special projects as needed. You should bring intermediate Excel skills and a high attention to detail for a variety of tasks. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers will round out the right candidate for this role.

What to Expect as a Staff Accountant:

• Prepare month-end journal entries
• Generate account reconciliations for multiple divisions
• Prepare supporting schedules for monthly close
• Month-end reconciliations for accounts payable/receivable
• Investigate and resolve issues with invoice processing and payments
• Reconcile incoming vendor invoices against purchase orders
• Assist with daily processing of incoming customer payments
• Compile and distribute a variety of management reports

Qualifications for Success:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2-3 years accounting experience working preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong ability to multi-task and effectively track deliverable
• Outstanding organizational skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with peers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers
• Intermediate skills in Excel and Word
