RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze project requirements, materials, labor, and associated costs to provide accurate and competitive estimates.
• Collaborates closely with Sales Department. Also interfaces with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Finance and Customer Service Departments.
• Ensures that pricing reflects both cost-effectiveness and profitability.

Additional Details

Project Analysis:

1. Review customer specifications and project requirements to gain a thorough understanding of the specific packaging needs.
2. Collaborate with the Sales and Engineering Design team to gather relevant information for accurate cost estimations.
3. Analyze technical drawings, product specifications, and other documentation to determine full scope of each project.

Material and Labor Estimation:

1. Evaluate and estimate the costs of raw materials, specialized components, and packaging materials required for each project.
2. Work closely with procurement to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing for materials.
3. Calculate labor costs based on project complexity, design time, production processes, and required skill sets.

Data Analysis and Cost Modeling:

1. Utilize cost estimating software and tools to develop accurate and detailed cost models for each project.
2. Conduct data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in the production design and manufacturing process.
3. Keep abreast of industry trends, market fluctuations, and material pricing to maintain competitiveness.

Collaboration and Communication:

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production, Engineering and Procurement, to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on project requirements.
2. Communicate cost estimates clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and customers.
3. Participate in project meetings and production meetings to provide insights into cost-related considerations and potential alternatives.

Documentation and Reporting

1. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of cost estimates, assumptions, and relevant data.
2. Generate comprehensive reports detailing cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, overhead and profit margins.
3. Provide periodic updates to management on cost estimation accuracy and opportunities for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, and or 2+ years related experience in a fast-paced organization preferred.
2. Military/ industrial packaging design experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and ethical business practices.
4. Must have excellent analytical, math and organizational skills.
5. Advanced understanding of packaging engineering an advantage.
6. Must have excellent written, negotiation, presentation and verbal communication skills.
7. Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, CRM and other appropriate software.
8. Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by the President.
9. Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, without advance notice.
10. Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and able to adapt to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
