Project Manager, HABA Consumer Packaged Goods
As Project Manager, you will be expected to serve as the main liaison between the sales and creative teams responsible for the flawless execution of new projects. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing projects from beginning to end. You will be constantly solving problems, managing internal and external communications and following through all project details.


Job Responsibilities

  • a. Project Management
    • i. Passionate about leading projects from R&D through production closely monitoring the details and status of each project throughout the entire life cycle
    • ii. Define and manage project scopes, estimate costs and timelines, and assess resources
    • iii. Initiate, track and execute all stages of each project
    • iv. Monitor and maintain on-time delivery of critical project milestones
    • v. Responsible for creating and maintaining project timelines
    • vi. Lead internal & external communication with cross-functional partners as it relates to product briefs, formula evaluation, copy and claims, artwork and regulatory deliverables
    • vii. Daily communication with external partners to manage development, testing, production - including on-site approvals, some travel required
    • viii. Work closely and collaborate with cross-functional team members to see projects to fruition, including R&D, sourcing, planning, operations, creative and brand marketing
    • ix. Forecasts changes and communicate possible obstacles and opportunities to the appropriate team members
    • x. Contribute to creative strategy and brainstorming
    • xi. Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking
    • xii. Wear many hats to provide value and make a difference
  • b. Project & Product Coordination
    • i. Sample processing - receiving, shipping, coordinating, testing, reviewing, marking and filing samples
    • ii. Performing quality assurance controls on products
    • iii. Unpacking, organizing and filing daily shipments from manufacturers and suppliers
    • iv. Proofing & copywriting presentations and product packaging
    • v. Detailed product sample review - reviewing products and product photos against BOM and development paperwork
    • vi. Maintain upkeep of product library, retains, and lab submissions
    • vii. Meticulously detailed record keeping of project history and status
  • c. Research & New Development
    • i. Responsible for researching new ingredients, claims, products and packaging to allow for greater innovation
    • ii. Forecast and report relevant fashion and beauty trends that support the business strategies
    • iii. Purchase and evaluate competitive products, prepare written assessments, and participate in presenting data
    • iv. Researching and analysis on market trends in HABA product, core retailers, packaging, sustainable efforts, and more. Including visiting local retail stores, to support development of products and initiatives.
    • v. Assure that product labeling and testing follows FDA and OTC requirements.
    • vi. Keep up to date on all FDA guidelines, Prop 65 requirements, new plastics laws, and other compliance requirements
  • d. Team support
    • i. Help coordinate & assemble samples and presentations for meetings, photography, etc.
    • ii. Accurately proof artwork for copy, descriptions, design, ingredients, etc.
    • iii. Enter detailed data and product information for internal document processing to ensure accurate product production
    • iv. Auditing internal documentation to ensure accurate product information
  • e. Other Responsibilities
    • i. Willingness to travel to local job sites, limited domestic air travel may be necessary
    • ii. Perform all development related tasks as directed by management
    • iii. Ability to take direction and work independently while being part of a team
    • iv. Team player - willing to help in other areas as needed

  • Core Skills & Experience
    • 3+ years of project management experience in Consumer Packaged Goods products
    • Experience in cosmetics or beauty industry preferred
    • 5+ years recent in-office experience
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred
    • Experience in handling projects with overseas factories
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Experienced researcher who can find answers and track down information

Software requirements:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Project management tools (Asana, MS Teams)
  • Knowledge of ERP software - NetSuite experience is a plus
